A Builder from the Beginning
I’m Sherman Mason, and ever since I was a kid, I knew I wanted to build homes. I got my start in high school, laying brick on weekends—and now, over 45 years later, I’m living my dream. I have the privilege of building quality custom homes for clients and collaborating with some of the most talented architects, designers, and craftsmen in the Baltimore, Annapolis, and Maryland Eastern Shore regions.
After many years working as a project manager for one of Maryland’s leading homebuilders, I decided to take a leap of faith and build a company grounded in my values, experience, and dedication. In 1999, Mason Construction Company was born. Since then, we’ve built an impressive portfolio of high-end custom homes and renovations, and more importantly, long-lasting relationships with clients who return to us and refer us to their friends and families.
Over the years, through both the highs and the challenges of running a business, I’ve been fortunate to build a loyal and talented team, many of whom have been with me from the beginning. We share the same core values: honesty, exceptional craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to client satisfaction. I’m incredibly grateful for their dedication and for the trust our clients place in us with their homes.
Thank you again for taking the time to learn more about Mason Construction Company and me. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a conversation about your project, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love the opportunity to learn more about how we can help bring your vision to life.
I grew up in the Eastport neighborhood of Annapolis and later moved to Mayo, where I’ve stayed close to my roots and community. I’ve been married to my high school sweetheart, Michelle, for over 45 years. Together, we’ve raised three incredible children—our daughters Aimee and Amanda, and our son Sam, who builds custom cabinetry for Mason Construction Company.
I’m also a very proud Pop-Pop to twin granddaughters Sophia and Lilly and two grandsons, Brody and Sam. They’re my biggest fans and bring me endless joy.
Back in the 1970s, I attended Southern High School in Anne Arundel County, where I played football and lacrosse, and served as captain of the wrestling team. Although I had a few offers to wrestle in college, I knew my true passion was building. I chose to continue working in the trades and built my education hands-on, learning every aspect of the business from the ground up.
When I’m not on a job site, I love discovering great music and watching the Food Network with Michelle, then trying our hand at recreating dishes that catch our eye. Over the past 15 years, I’ve developed a real passion for skiing. Each winter, we try to take a few ski trips with the grandkids, and finally, this past March, my dream of skiing out West was realized, and I skied some of the best slopes Colorado has to offer.
